Our Eco-Friendly Approach to Exeter Waste Removal
The family-run, local skip-hire company, Throw & Tow Eco skips, work hard to offer eco-friendly Exeter waste removal services for both commercial and residential waste. Did you know that in 2021/2022 East Devon achieved its highest-ever recycling rate? 61% of waste removal was recycled, reused or repurposed.
What Is Eco-Friendly Waste Removal Exeter?
At Throw & Tow Eco Skips Ltd, we offer a wide range of eco-friendly waste removal services for both large and small projects across Exeter, with the aim that as little waste as possible is sent to landfill. At Throw & Tow Eco Skips, we know that by 2050 the amount of fish in the ocean will be outnumbered by plastic waste
Exeter, being a beautiful city, surrounded by beaches, moorland and countryside could be drastically affected by the rise in waste pollution in our seas. This is why we work closely with local charities to help rapidly reduce the amount of Exeter waste removal heading to landfill.
Waste & The Environment – What’s The Impact?
By not recycling or finding eco-friendly solutions for Exeter waste removal, our poorly discarded waste will contribute to climate change, as well as pollute the various habitats and natural environments, including the seas, beaches and countryside and ultimately affect various ecosystems and wildlife in Exeter and across the globe.
At Throw & Tow Eco Skips, we hand-sort all of the commercial or domestic waste brought to us from our fixed skips and Wait & Load Service and donate as much of the contents as possible to local charities and community groups. Helping to protect the environment and those within our local community as well.

However, while we aim to help with a wide range of eco-friendly waste removal in and around Exeter, you can help reduce your waste impact on the environment by following our top tips here:
Reusable Bottles / Cups
Making a permanent switch from single-use bottles and containers to reusable containers when possible can have a dramatic effect on the environment. While most cans and bottles can be easily recycled, the energy and effort which goes into the process can be damaging to the environment.
Composting
While we cannot collect items such as teabags or general food waste, by compositing your food scraps you can help reduce the weight of waste regularly being collected and, therefore, the amount of fuel needed to transport your waste. Your food waste compost can then be sprinkled across your garden to help promote healthy growth in your flowers. A win-win!
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
The majority of large items found in our skips, as previously mentioned, are donated to charities that help the less fortunate in and around Exeter and abroad. However, you can significantly reduce your impact on the environment by reducing the number of items you purchase, breathing new life into older items or recycling and donating furniture where possible.
